Gruevski: Macedonia Has Money, If politicians are not Stealing

The center of Skopje was flooded with supporters yesterday, during the ruling Government's coalition campaign as part of the upcoming elections on June 5th.

According to the ruling coalition, it was the largest political gathering since Macedonia's independence. Police and organizers put the numbers at 70,000+.

The current PM, Nikola Gruevski proclaimed that June 5th will mark the end of Crvenkovski's catastrophic career as a politician in Macedonia. "On June 5th, our citizens will get their chance to pay back to Crvenkovski for the lost years, lost opportunities, for what could have been, but never materialized because of his greed. On June 5th, Crvenkovski will retire as the most unsuccessful prime minister whose only achievement is unemployment, criminal privatization and lost wages," said Gruevski.

Gruevski asked the people for support, so he can continue reforming and building the nation. He reminded the supporters of successful projects such as building new highways, schools, hospitals, apartment complexes, sport arenas, the drastic lowering of taxes, making Macedonia investor friendly...

-This is the difference between us and the SDSM. You can't remain on the political scene if you've got nothing to offer. They walk around with 2 or 3 pieces of paper and offer projects which we've already accomplished or are in the process of being completed. Our dedication is the key for the support of our citizens, not the commercials you see on TV, says Gruevski adding the gathering reminded him of the night when Macedonia proclaimed its independence and he himself was in downtown as a student.

Gruevski asked why for years the SDSM had scolded VMRO for their strong stance regarding a referendum for the name negotiations and now all of a sudden they accept it as well!? Why change the mind now? Gruevski also told the social democrats not to worry about money, i.e. how will the Government be able to fund all of their projects. "Macedonia has plenty of money, if politicians don't steal them" added Gruevski.

EU Parliament MEP Bernd Posselt took the podium to voice his support for the current Government. "The current government did the things that the social democrats slept through for years", said Posselt.
