Macedonian Wines to be presented in Two Specialized Fairs in the Czech Republic The event is run under the auspices of the Association „Wines of Macedonia“ and the Embassy of Macedonia in Prague.

Macedonian wines will be presented at two different events in the Czech Republic - the 12th International Wine Show and the 17th International Gastronomic Trade Fair in Prague.

The event is run under the auspices of the Association „Wines of Macedonia“ and the Embassy of Macedonia in Prague and supported by the Macedonian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy.

During the 12th International Wine Show at the prestigious hotel Hilton Hotel Prague, two wine tastings of 7 white and 7 red Macedonian wines were organized Tuesday as well a presentation of Macedonian wine industry led by Mr. Ivo Dvořák, Vice president of Association of Sommeliers CR.


A Masterclass Tasting of Macedonian wines was also organized during which participants had a chance to taste wines from 7 leading Macedonian wineries: Tikveš, Skovin, Stobi, Dalvina, Kamnik, Bovin and Popov.

“By participating in the events over the past two years, our goal is to build up the recognisability of the Macedonian wine in the Czech Republic , a higher ranking of our branded, bottled wine in that market and building the brand of Macedonian wine,” said the coordinator of the "Wines of Macedonia" Elena Miloshevska.

According to Miloshevska, the overall export results show that the interest in Macedonian bottled wine on the market in the Czech Republic is constantly increasing.

“At the special presentation of Macedonian wines during the Masterclass, thirty participants were present. The tasting of the wine, which have received excellent remarks was accompanied by a video presentation of our country, the wine regions and all features of the wine,” said  the Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to the Czech Republic, Pascal Stojceski.

Macedonian wines will also be presented at the 17th International Fair of Gastronomy- Wine&Delicacies that starts April 25th in Prague. The three-day event is the largest exhibition of wines and spirits, other drinks and snacks of the “new" European Union countries.

The presentations of the Macedonian wines in the Czech Republic, including the one from last December, are part of the Rural Development Programme of the Ministry of Agriculture.
