This year OKTA, Macedonian Telecom, Johnson Matthey, EVN and ELEM are the five most successful companies in Macedonia.
Monday’s promotion of the 2012 publication of 200 largest and most successful companies in Macedonia was organized by the Capital Media Group.
The list of best companies also includes Lukoil, Vitaminka, Granit, Beton, ArcelorMittal, MEPSO, Feni Industry, ORKA Holding, Imperial Tobacco…
These companies realise 47% of the total revenue, create largest number of jobs, being the driving power of Macedonia’s economic development, Branko Azeski, chair of the Economic Chamber, said at the promoting ceremony. Hence, the state and chambers are obliged to support them, he added.
He advocated urgent infrastructural development (gas-pipe line, modern rail, motorway network), saying that those projects would hopefully bring the number of present 200 most successful companies to 500.
Vice-Premier for Economic Affairs Vladimir Pesevski reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to support, cooperate with the business sector in mitigating the consequences of the Europe’s debt crisis.
“This and the next year are going to be difficult. The debt crisis in Europe is getting worse and we cannot avoid all consequences. However, the Government will do what’s possible in cooperation with the business community,” Pesevski said.
