Germany did what Macedonia wanted to do. The Germans beat France prior to the start of Macedonia v Denmark match which meant, France is now second in the group which of course meant Macedonia will not face the French only if they lost to Denmark.
Which is exactly what the team in red and yellow did.
Teams have calculated and will continue to create plans that fit them regardless if they have to lose to someone, even on purpose.
The Macedonians started the match well, unburdened to earn a win against a tough Danish team.
The Danes took the lead 0-1, however Macedonia got it back 2-1 and did not relinquish it for a long period going into the second half.
14-13 was the half time score in favor of Macedonia.
The second half started with Macedonia increasing the lead, all the way to 24-22. It was at that time when the team took off their foot from the gas pedal and allowed Denmark to take over the match.
The Danish wrapped it up 33-30.
Will Macedonia's tactic of preferring to play Germany over France pay off, remains to be seen on Saturday in Barcelona.
