Slovenian Ales Pipan new headcoach of Macedonian Basketball team

Ales Pipan was promoted Wednesday as the new basketball national team coach.

"It is an honor and obligation to be Macedonia's coach. We have to prepare well for the coming euros. My goal is to create convincing play that yields results. This requires the best players we have at disposal", said the Slovene coach.
Pipan said younger players would gradually be introduced in the national team, but not at the expense of results.

"The most important thing is that all players respond to the call. We will go step by step. I believe in a good showing at the European Championship in September, provided we work hard, have a bit of luck, and enjoy the public's support", added the coach.
Pipan, 53, who has managed teams in Slovenia, Croatia and Poland, is currently the coach of Macedonian club champion MZT Skopje. Furthermore, he coached the national teams of Slovenia and Poland.
