As the Macedonian basketball team was arriving at the Zalgiris arena in preparation for their practice session numerous Lithianian fans were leaving the arena after having watched the Slovenia v Serbia match.
As soon as the Lithuanians spotted the Macedonian team, they started applauding telling them they would cheer for them tomorrow. More fans poured out of the arena, so the applause for the red and yellow turned into a long chant "Macedonia, Macedonia".
The Macedonians were caught off guard, not expecting this from fans who just two days ago defeated the home side in the 1/4 finals.
Some of the fans expressed their huge dissapointment after the loss to Macedonia, but as a basketballing nation also accept when they are outplayed. Many consider Lithuania Europe's greatest basketball nation, where people virtually live and breath basketball.
And then something amazing happened. Predrag Samardziski came out of the bus. He recently signed for Litvas Ritas, the biggest rival of Zalgiris. The Lithianians immediately started chanting "Ritas, Ritas, Ritas". Samardziski surprised by the reception, started signing autographs.
After few group photos with the home fans, the red and yellow headed to the Zalgiris basketball arena.
