Austrian Companies Feeling Good in Macedonia

Macedonia is a safe country for operations of companies having Austrian capital, says Severin Heinisch, CEO of PR agency "Chapter 4", which opened its Skopje office in October.

In an interview with Austrian economy magazine "Wirtschaftsblatt", Heinisch stresses that Austrian companies feel comfortable on the Balkans, especially in Macedonia.

"Chapter 4" has its offices in Serbia, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Bosnia&Herzegovina, as well as local representatives in seven other countries of Eastern and Southeast Europe.

Heinisch says the agency will focus on international companies operating in the region.

"Small markets have an enormous role, because we are living in a globalized world, which means globalization of public relations in different countries", says Heinisch.

Besides working with international corporations such as Hewlett Packard, Coca Cola and Lufthansa, the agency is also active with Austrian local businesses in Macedonia.

"There are about 80 companies with Austrian capital in Macedonia. There are a lot more in the entire Balkan region, entrepreneurial-friendly of course", adds Heinisch.

According to him, Macedonia is developing both politically and economically, moving towards the EU.

However, the magazine underlines that the country has had the EU candidate status since 2005, but is blocked due to the name row with Greece.
