TEHRAN (FNA)- Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov underlined his country's willingness to further boost economic ties with Iran.
"Improving the framework for economic ties between the two countries is highly important," Ivanov said at a meeting with new Iranian Ambassador to Macedonia Saeed Sadeq Mohammadi.
He added that strengthening economic cooperation should stand "atop the agenda" in the expansion of the bilateral ties between the two sides.
The Iranian envoy, who submitted his credentials to Ivanov, underlined Iran's resolve to develop bilateral relations with Macedonia.
He said his mission as Iran's first residing envoy to Macedonia signifies Tehran's determination to develop cooperation with the European state.
Macedonia, officially the Republic of Macedonia, is a country located in the central Balkan Peninsula in Southeast Europe. It is one of the successor states of the former Yugoslavia, from which it declared independence in 1991.
