Macedonian Viktor Gruev, Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Washington University St. Louis, Misouri, USA, will give a lecture on 13 July at the Ohrid based University of Saint Paul the Apostle, titled “Inspiration from Nature for Sensors (Applicable) in Surgery”.
The thirtynine old Professor Gruev is the inventor of specially designed eyeglasses that enable surgeons to see tumor cells during surgery. The invention is believed to be a somewhat revolution in world medicine since it makes possible for infected cells to be precisely removed and preservation of healthy tissue.
Prof. Gruev will present two types of sensors, designed after visual systems of animals and their application in neurology and oncology.
