Among the countries of the former Yugoslavia, Macedonia is on fourth place in innovations, according to the Global Innovation Index, which ranks countries in accordance to the number of new technological and scientific inventions, Telegraf.mk informs.
Slovenia is best ranked in the region, followed by Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Serbia and finally, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On a global scale, Macedonia is ranked 60th on the list of 143 countries.
Switzerland sits comfortable on the top, being an absolute leader in innovation. Also among the first on the list are Britain, Sweden and Finland, which have strong support systems of innovation that encourage creativity.
The biggest improvement, however, is observed in the region of Sub-Saharan Africa.
