President Gjorge Ivanov met Friday with a Bundestag group for cooperation with South-East Europe, focusing on bilateral relations, Macedonia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as current developments.
President Ivanov voiced satisfaction from Germany’s principled and continual support to Macedonia’s strategic objectives and the positive development of bilateral relations.
He saluted the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and expressed readiness for further enhancement of relations in all fields of mutual interest, as well as maintenance of political dialogue at all levels.
Regarding Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic integration, Ivanov stressed the country’s commitment to implementation of reforms aimed at EU and NATO accession.
“Political entities in the country conduct in a reasonable and responsible manner, in compliance with the interests of citizens and the state”, said Ivanov over latest events in Macedonia.
He stressed that domestic developments largely come as a result of the long-standing, unprincipled and illegal blockage to Macedonia’s EU and NATO integration.
“Macedonia and South-East European countries have the Bundestag support over the Euro-Atlantic integration process. We are your friends and want to support you on the road to EU and NATO membership”, said Bundestag delegation chair Peter Weiss
