New investment in Kocani, 1500 new jobs



American corporation “Amphenol” a new foreign investor in Macedonia to invest EUR six million in the first phase and employ 1,500 people in the first five years. The plant will be located in Kocani.

The investment was announced today by the Prime Minister and the Vice President of the American corporation “Amphenol” and CEO of the Automotive Group at Amphenol Corporation John Treanor.

The corporation has already hired 70 people in manufacturing of automotive parts. 250 to 350 people will be employed this year.

Treanor, among other, stressed that the decision to invest in Macedonia was based on the great opportunities that the country offers, educated work force, support from the Agency for Foreign Investments and other competent institutions, but mostly based on the good business environment.



Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski expressed great satisfaction with the decision of the American corporation “Amphenol” to invest in Macedonia, where export and supply to the European market will be done, and it is a result of the government’s road shows.

Gruevski stressed that the satisfaction is even greater because Treanor pointed out that there were no obstacles through the process of realization of the investment.
