FFM AND UEFA AT FIRST MEETING FOR THE EUROPEAN SUPER CUP IN 2017

A high delegation of UEFA from Tuesday is on an official visit to the Football Federation of Macedonia connected with the organization of the UEFA Super Cup in Skopje, match to be played between the winner of the Champions League and Europa League in 2017.

During the visit, today was held a meeting attended by Secretary General of the FFM, the manager of TAV airport and representative of the National Arena "Philip II", under the guidance of the head of UEFA department for the organization of events - Daniel Ribeiro.

At the was meeting explained the framework for planning and organization of the Super Cup, and the timetable for implementation of the project.


- We are already working on drawing up a working group that will include representatives of the FFM, the City of Skopje, the National Arena and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia. We believe that this competition is very important in terms of improving the physical infrastructure of the National Arena from all aspects. But what is even more important as the benefit is the fact that Skopje will be on the map of European football and people will talk about us in the next 23 months of preparation. Our main objective is to show and prove that we are mature and ready for the organization of this competition rank and again to show ourselves as good host, Filip Popovski said, secretary general of the FFM.

UEFA is satisfied with the initial impression of infrastructure and facilities that will be involved in maintaining the Supercopa.

- We are pleased with what we have seen so far in terms of airport infrastructure, hotel facilities, stadium and plan for improvements. We have almost two years ahead of us, a period which will define the future steps in anticipation of the event. What I want now to emphasize is that the standard branding of Super Cup will be personalized with the specifics of the city, and it will soon start to be distributed across all communication channels of UEFA, - Ribeiro.
