Der ehemalige walisische Nationaltrainer John Toshack wird neuer Coach von Mazedonien. Das teilte der mazedonische Fußball-Verband (FFM) auf seiner Internetseite mit. Der 62-Jährige stand von 2004 bis 2010 bei Wales in der Verantwortung und soll noch im Lauf dieses Monats seinen neuen Job antreten. «Toshack wird am 25. August in Mazedonien sein und am darauffolgenden Tag offiziell vorgestellt», sagte FFM-Präsident Haralampie Hadziristeski nach einem Treffen mit Toshack in Barcelona. In der Qualifikation zur Weltmeisterschaft 2014 in Brasilien trifft Mazedonien unter anderem auf Wales. Sein Debüt auf der Bank wird Toshack am 2. September mit dem Auswärtsspiel in der EM-Quali in Russland feiern. Pivovara Skopje, the largest Macedonian brewery, posted a 39-percent higher profit, which amounted to MKD 163.2 million or EUR 2.6 million in the first quarter of this year. Last year, the company’s profit reached MKD 268.7 million. The brewery reported sales decrease from MKD 1.721 billion last year to MKD 1.340 billion this year.  On the other hand, Prilepska pivovara generated a great increase in profit of 245 percent, mostly thanks to Prilep's Beer Festival. Last year, the company’s profit amounted to MKD 12.1 million in the first quarter, while this year it reached MKD 41.7 million. In the first six months, the sales business was stabile with growth of 13 percent, from MKD 514.9 million to MKD 453.6 million.

Boban Babunski confirmed today that he gave John Toshack a list of 30 players and Toshack chose 22 of those players for the EURO 2012 qualifiers against Russia and Andorra. One of the assistants on the Macedonian national team, Boban Babunski, confirmed today in an interview with Macedonian newspaper Vest that he gave new manager John Toshack a list of 30 players that he felt were national team quality. From those 30 players, Toshack chose 22 of them which means two players at every position. Skopje’s new multi million Euro terminal will open its doors two days ahead of schedule, on Tuesday September 6. Originally, it was planned for the terminal, which will handle all of Skopje Airport’s customers, to open on Macedonian Independence Day on September 8. However, the airport’s management believes that the new terminal will get more publicity if it is opens ahead of the public holiday. The first airlines and passengers to use the new terminal should be those arriving and departing in the afternoon. The new terminal has 23 check-in desks, 6 air bridges and stretches over 40.000 square metres. When construction started last year it was planned for work to be completed by October 23. Meanwhile, Macedonia’s Minister for Transport and Communications, Mile Janakieski, held a bilateral meeting with his Turkish counterpart last Friday in Skopje.
