Wie bereits berichtet, konnte die PCC HYDRO DOOEL Skopje (Mazedonien) die ersten drei Wasserkraftwerke erfolgreich in Betrieb nehmen. Die finanzierende Bank EBRD (Europäische Bank für Wiederaufbau und Entwicklung) ließ diese drei Projekte nach Fertigstellung von unabhängigen Experten prüfen und hat nun die erfolgreiche Inbetriebnahme mit einer Erfolgsprämie, einem sog. Incentive Payment, belohnt. Somit hat sich die Summe des mit der EBRD geschlossenen Darlehensvertrags in Höhe von  6 Millionen € um rund 670.000 € reduziert. Industrial production in the period between January and October rose by 5.1% compared to the same period last year. This October the industrial production increased by 7.5% in comparison with October 2013, according to the State Statistical Office. Industrial production in the section mining and quarrying in October 2014, in comparison with October 2013, decreased by 4.2%, in the section manufacturing industry it increased by 7.9%, and in the section electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it increased by 21.3%. According to Main Industrial Groupings, industrial production in October 2014, in comparison with October 2013, was higher in energy by 16.9%, intermediate goods industries, except energy by 2.0%, capital goods industries by 49.0% and non-­durable consumer goods industries by 2.7%.

Kosovarische Behörden beschuldigten Makedonien eines unlauteren Wettbewerb. Makedonien würde unfair wettbewerben, meinte Dritan Gjonbalaj, Chef der kosovarischen Direktion für die Zivilluftfahrt, gegenüber dem TV-Sender KTV. Auch habe sich seine Direktion an die Europäische Kommission gewandt, erläuterte er am Dienstag. Grund für die kosovarischen Vorwürfe sind Zuschüsse, mit denen die makedonischen Behörden vor allem den Verkehr auf dem renovierten Flughafen "Alexander der Große" in Skopje fördern wollen. Entsprechend einem Regierungsbeschluss aus dem Vorjahr erhalten Fluggesellschaften, die von Skopje eine neue Destination starten, einen Zuschuss aus der Staatskasse von 40.000 Euro. The number of live births in the third quarter of this year, compared with the same period last year, increased by one percent and is 6377, State Statistical Office announced today. . In the third quarter of this year there were 4555 deaths, compared to the same quarter of last year a decrease of 0.7 percent. Of the total number of deaths 71 are infants. The natural increase is 1.844 people. In the third quarter there are 4392 concluded marriage, 0.6 percent more than the same period last year. Divorces in this quarter of the year see an increase compared to the same period in 2013 and their number is 506.

State Statistical Office regularly publishes statistics on the number of signed and broken marriages. According to the latest statistical table published in July this year, the average age at first marriage was 25.8 years for the bride and groom 28.6 years. Another interesting information is that the number of divorces in 2013 increased by 6.2% compared to 2012 and is 2045 divorces. The most critical period for termination of marriage is December which accounts with 10 percent of the total number of divorces in the country, and August is at the bottom of this list. Under the age of wife most divorces, 19.5% happened in the age group of 35-39 years, and for the husband in the age group of 30-34 years with a share of 19.1%. Skopje is at the top of the list according to the number of divorces, but also on the list of the second and third remarrying. Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski attended Monday in Vienna the closing meeting of Austria's presidency with the Central European Initiative (CEI). At the forum, the CEI presidency was handed over to Macedonia by Austria, the government's PR sector said in a press release. Nachdem Mazedonien bereits seit Dezember 2005 den Status eine Kandidatenlandes für den Beitritt zur Europäischen Union hat, wäre es höchst an der Zeit, dass die Beitrittsverhandlungen aufgenommen würden, stimmten Dragan Tilev, Minister Counsellor der Mission Mazedoniens bei der Europäischen Union, und Franz Schausberger, Berichterstatter zur EU-Erweiterungsstrategie 2014/2015 in einem Gespräch in Brüssel überein. Diese Verhandlungen werden von Griechenland wegen der ungelösten Frage des Namens für die Republik Mazedonien blockiert. Schausberger meinte, dass es möglich sein müsste, die Beitrittsverhandlungen mit Mazedonien zu eröffnen und parallel dazu die Verhandlungen über die Namensfrage zu führen. Dank der überragenden Torhüterin Jana Krause und einer kämpferisch starken Leistung gewann der deutsche Meister in eigener Halle mit 21:20 (10:12) gegen HC Vardar Skopje aus Makedonien. Nadja Nadgornaja erzielte den entscheidenden Treffer zum 21:20 (10:12), in den verbleibenden 6 Sekunden konnte Vardar keinen Tor mehr erzielen. Macedonia ranks 7th worldwide in "Paying taxes 2015" report. This is a confirmation that conditions and entire procedure of paying taxes are significantly favourable for the companies i.e. the most favourable in the region of the South East Europe and among the best in Europe and the world, Deputy PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski stated Friday. Macedonian authorities have introduced a temporary ban on all poultry and egg imports from the Netherlands, Germany and Great Britain on Monday after the reports that bird flu cases are registered in these European countries. "In our oversight, considering all analyzed samples of caught or dead wild fowl, or poultry kept in different conditions in Macedonia, we have not detected the presence of this disease. It also hasn't been detected in the region either", the Macedonian Food and Veterinary Agency stated on Monday. The Veles-based company “Brako” has started manufacturing trucks for vacuum street sweeping as a result of a joint partnership with Italy’s “BioStrada” company. The mechanical street sweeper is an environmentally-friendly vehicle, which is entirely manufactured in Brako’s plants. Attending the promotion on Saturday, Deputy PM Vladimir Pesevski congratulated the managers and owners of BioStrada and Brako on their successful joint project – the first of its kind in Macedonia in which a local and foreign company are investing in a product intended to be exported and whose added value to a large extent belongs to Macedonia.

Eine weitere Schlappe gab es in der Fußball EM2016 Qualifikation gegen die ungeschlagenen Slowaken. Die Slowaken setzten sich durch Treffer von Kucka und Nemec 2:0 in Skopjes Filip II of Macedon Arena durch und steht nun an der Spitze der Gruppe C. The economic situation in Western Balkans has been deteriorating for last several months, which means that the recovery that began in 2013 was fragile, says a recent economic analysis of the European Commission. Serbia and Albania have entered into recession. The only significant growth in real gross domestic product (GDP) has been registered in Macedonia, B92 quotes the EC analysis. Apart from Macedonia, a GDP growth has been also registered in Kosovo as a result of the private consumption, stimulated by large increase this April of public sector wages and pensions.  The analysis indicates that "the severe flooding this May in Serbia and Bosnia/Herzegovina had devastating consequences for the infrastructure and caused huge losses in manufacturing, particularly in the mining and energy sector."

Systembolaget - the biggest chain of alcoholic beverages in Sweden, and at the same time, the fourth biggest importer of this kind in the world, has announced a tender for the supply of the red Macedonian wine from the indigenous variety "vranec", Telegraf.mk reads. Macedonian wineries that will decide to participate at the tender will have the possibility to put their wines at the shelves in 130 stores, located across Sweden. The wineries need to dispose of capacity to deliver 18,000 liters minimum in a period of 6 months, as the sole condition for participation at the tender, with Systembolaget guarantying the presence of the wine on the fixed list in the first three months, while in the three months that follow, the placement will depend on the sale's success.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies from Skopje (FEIT), will start an exchange program that will involve professors, students, and interns with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) in Zagreb, Croatia. This possibility is allowed under the cooperation memorandum signed in Skopje by the heads of these two educational institutions.  "The signing of the memorandum represents deepening and institutionalization of our current cooperation with FER from Croatia.
