Industrial production between January and November 2014 has grown by 5,2 percent on a year on year basis. November alone, compared to November 2013, has seen a 5,8 percent growth in industrial production. Major growth is seen in the production of electric energy, gas, steam and air conditioning, which saw a 27,7 percent growth, while energy alone grew by 17,4 percent. Durable consumer goods production grew by 5,9 percent and mining saw a 3 percent growth in 2014 compared to 2013. State Statistics Bureau informs that a drop in production was registered in the non-durable consumption products, of 9,9 percent.

Der FC Bayern Basketball hat den Vertrag mit Point Guard Bo McCalebb um fünf Wochen verlängert. Der US-Boy bleibt damit bis Ende Januar in München und kann bereits im nächsten BBL-Spiel gegen die Artland Dragons wieder für die Bayern mitwirken. Das gab der Verein in einer Pressemitteilung am Freitag bekannt. Der Point Guard wurde Mitte November aufgrund der angespannten Personallage bei den Bayern verpflichtet und unterschrieb ursprünglich einen kurzfristigen Vertrag über vier Wochen. Der Bau des Teilstückes von Demir Kapija nach Smokvica auf der Autobahn Richtung Griechenland schreitet voran. Es werden 28,18km neu gebaut, 2 Tunnels mit 1,2km Länge, 6 Brücken, 7 Unterführungen, 5 Überführungen und zwei Anschlüsse sind Teil des neuen Projekts das den Reisenden die Strecke um 8km verkürzen wird. Der Bau soll 2016 komplett fertig gestellt sein.

Ein Stier bei Kumanovo will nicht auf die Schlachtbank und flüchtete. Dabei lief er die Autobahn entlang und nach etwa 2-3 km bog er rechts in die Lukoil Tankstelle ein. Erst versuchte er durch die Verglasung zu kommen, als die Schiebetür aufging lief der Stier in die Tankstelle hinein - dort kam er allerdings auf den Fliesen ins rutschen und demolierte einen Weihnachtsbaum sowie beinahe den Getränkekühlschrank. Fast elf Jahre nach dem Tod des mazedonischen Präsidenten Boris Trajkovski bei einem Flugzeugunglück unweit der herzegowinischen Stadt Mostar ist nun eine zweite Ermittlung über die Unfallursachen abgeschlossen worden. Gemäß Omer Kulic, dem Leiter des Ermittlerteams, soll der Bericht im Laufe des Tages dem bosnischen Staatsanwalt Goran Salihovic zugestellt werden. Danach wird er den mazedonischen Behörden präsentiert, bevor er publik gemacht wird. Das neue Ermittlungsteam, dessen Mitglieder kroatische, serbische, mazedonische und bosnische Experten waren, habe ganz genau festgestellt, was passiert sei, erklärte Kulic kürzlich gegenüber bosnischen Medien, ohne weitere Details preiszugeben. Medien in Sarajevo berichteten daraufhin, dass Trajkovski und andere Flugzeuginsassen vor dem Absturz des Flugzeuges durch eine Explosion ums Leben gekommen seien. Ministerpräsident Ahmet Davutoglu hat sich über die Beziehungen zwischen der Türkei und Makedonien geäußert. Davutoglu erinnerte daran, dass die Türkei, nach der Proklamation der Unabhängigkeit Makedoniens, das erste Land war, das einen Botschafter in dieses Land entsendet hat.  Die Türkei werde die historischen Beziehungen mit Makedonien ausbauen. Makedonien sei für das politische Gleichgewicht und Entwicklungen im Balkan von großer strategischer Bedeutung.  Die Stabilität auf dem Balkan sei von der Stabilität in Makedonien abhängig. Die Türkei sei stets an der territorialen Integrität in Makedonien interessiert. 

Men's handball team of Macedonia today began preparations for the performance at the World Cup in Qatar, which begins on January 15. On the first training because of club commitments was missing captain Kiril Lazarov and Nikola Stojcevski who later will join his teammates. Preparations in Skopje will be held at SC "Jane Sandanski" and internationals are accommodated in the hotel "Russia" located near the gym. Ein 26-jähriger aus Gostivar verlor die Kontrolle über sein Fahrzeug und krachte gegen die Mauer bei "Tifani" Ecke Partizanska und Boulevard VMRO in Skopje. Der Fahrer wurde umgehend verletzt ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert.

Nach gut 30 Jahren Pause gab es mal wieder Eishockey in Skopje. Die makedonische Nationalmannschaft traf auf Bulgarien zum ersten offiziellen Länderspiel-Doppelpack. Das erste Spiel gewann Bulgarien nach 5:5 in der regulären Spielzeit durch Penalty schießen 5:6, tags darauf am Sonntag revanchierten sich unsere Spieler mit einem 4:3, ebenfalls nach Penalty schießen.

Ein Makedonier zeigte sich nach einem TV Auftritt von Bundeskanzlerin Merkel besorgt. So zögerte er nicht lange und schrieb Angela Merkel einen Brief in dem er noch 1000 mg Vitamin C und Rhodiolin -das anti-Stress fördernd ist- beifügte. Als Hintergrund zu dieser Aktion nannte der gute Mann Merkels Rede in Dubrovnik, in der Merkel den EU und NATO Beitritt Makedoniens unterstützte, auch das die Bundeskanzlerin "einen schweren Job ausübt" war ein Motiv für Mitko.

China, Serbien, Ungarn und Makedonien einigen sich auf Aufbau der Boden- und Meerschnellbahn zwischen China und Europa. Auf einer gemeinsamen Pressekonferenz sagte der chinesische Ministerpräsident Li Keqiang am Mittwoch in Belgrad, China, Ungarn und Serbien seien bereit, bei dem Aufbau der Eisenbahnlinie zwischen Ungarn und Serbien zusammenzuarbeiten. Ein entsprechendes Memorandum sei bereits unterzeichnet worden. Makedonien zeige sich auch bereit, sich so schnell wie möglich daran zu beteiligen. Von diesem Projekt würde nicht nur China, sondern auch das ganze Europa profitieren, so der chinesische Regierungschef. The growth rate of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the third quarter of 2014 was 4.1%, says the State Statistical Office. In this quarter, the biggest increase was recorded in Manufacturing by 16.6%; Arts, entertainment and recreation; Other service activities; Activities of households as employers; undifferentiated goods- and services-producing activities of households for own use by 11.6%; Professional, scientific and technical activities; Administrative and support service activities by 8.2%; and Financial and insurance activities by 7.5%. In the third quarter of 2014, Household final consumption, including Non-profit institutions serving households, increased by 1.7% in nominal terms compared to the same period of 2013, and its share in the GDP structure was 67.9%. Ein schwerer Unfall ereignete sich heute morgen auf der Umgehung von Skopje bei Volkovo. 19 Fahrzeuge waren involviert und sind zum Teil Totalschäden. Laut erste Polizeimeldungen gab es 9 Verletzte, darunter ein Kind.  Augenzeugen berichteten das eine Frau aufgrund glatter Fahrbahn ins Schleudern geriet und die Kontrolle über das Fahrzeug verlor. Als das Fahrzeug zum Stillstand kam blockierte der Motor, folgende Fahrzeuge konnten aufgrund des dichten Nebels das stehen gebliebene Fahrzeug nicht erkennen und es kam zur Massenkarambolage.

The unemployment rate in the third quarter of this year was 27.9 percent and it is decreased compared to the previous quarter to 0.3 percent in the third quarter last year by 0.8 percent, according to data from the State Statistical Office. The number of unemployed in the third quarter was 267,428 persons out of active population of 690 965 people. The rate of activity in this is 57.3 percents and the employment rate is 41.3 percents. Among the unemployed more than half, i.e. 61.1 percents are men and 38.9 percents women. From 15 to 24 years were 50 275 unemployed people, from 25 to 49 years are 165,325 unemployed persons and from 50 to 64 years, the number of unemployed persons was 51 458 people.

The greatest distance passed by pushing a car by two men in 24 hours is the challenge that Aleksandar Cekorov and Aleksandar Smilkov are going to try to beat on Saturday at the Forza Sport center, when they try to break the current Guinness Record, which currently stands at 82,4 kilometers. For 20 years, Cekorov has been actively involved in the marathon and ultra-marathon running. For 22 years after its independence, Macedonia continued to use its old coat of arms, back in the day when it was still a Republic in SFRY. Today however, the Government has proposed a new Coat of Arms for the country. A red lion on a golden-yellow background with a crown on top decorated with rubies and pearls. The new coat contains a red lion within a golden-yellow shield with a mural-fortress-shaped crown on its top. The new coat should restore the country's historic symbols. Macedonia and Belarus are the only European countries that still use emblems, inspired by the former USSR heraldic. "The existing coat of arms of Macedonia is designed according to the one of former USSR, being also a model for all Soviet Republics. The obligatory elements of this design - the sun, five-pointed star, wheat stalks and ribbons with folk motifs - symbolized the brighter communist society, which is achieved by the labor of working class and farmers," the draft-law reads. ...

In the first 10 months of this year, exports grew by 19 and imports by 13 percents compared to the same period last year, and the exchange became more balanced. The coverage of imports by exports, from 64.5% last year, rose to 68.1%. The European Union remains our key market, with Germany as the most important trade partner of Macedonia. In exchange with this country, we have surplus of over billion dollars. Within the first five “major trading partners,” with which we accomplish over half of the exchange are Great Britain, Greece, Serbia, and Italy. Leading export products of the country, for the most part are products from the free economic zones. The catalysts from “Johnson Matthey”, machinery, and transport equipment manufactured by other companies have growth of 94 percents. Among the most traded export products are Ferro-nickel, iron, and steel. Companies from zone only this year alone, delivered products worth over billion euros.

Macedonia ranks 64th out of 175 countries, according to the Corruption Perception Index contained in the latest report issued by Transparency International, meaning it is among the middle-ranked countries. The assessment of corruption is based on the phenomenon in the public sector and is defined as abuse of position for personal gain. This represents a mild increase for Macedonia. Last year, the country stood at the 44th place, and in 2012, at the 43rd. Aas to the countries in the region, Bulgaria comes 60th, Montenegro is 76th, Serbia 78th, Croatia 61st, while Albania and Kosovo share the same place, i.e. the 110th.

These days once again, and rightfully so, the Macedonian public is discussing the murder at Smilkovsko Lake in which five Macedonian teens were killed execution style. Some of the perpetrators of this crime (but not all) received deserved punishment. However, we still don't have an answer to a key question: Why did they do it and what was the motive to kill five precious innocent lives who found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time - fishing at Smilkovsko Lake? We heard various theories, assumptions, scenarios ... what actually happened before the murder, what happened after this heinous crime. In all of them the main point, the main focus is the ethnic dimension of the event - Albanian jihadists killed five Macedonians, execution style! The supposed reason for the crime: 39 acres of land that was given as concession to someone 30 years ago...at least that's what we were initially told, under the assumption we are all idiots. MAT Macedonian Airlines (IN, Skopje) will be succeeded by a new national carrier during the second half of next year EX-YU Aviation News reports. The Macedonian government recently issued a tender for potential advisers in the project which it hopes will see strong foreign participation. The tender runs until December 29, after which the government, in collaboration with TAV Airports Macedonia, will select a winner. Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Atatürk) has long been touted as the strongest contender for the role of foreign partner in the establishment of a national carrier. TAV sees a strong aviation sector as vital to the development of the country's economy which is highly dependent on tourism.
