Zu einer Prügelei kam es im makedonischem Parlament zwischen Parlamentarier der zwei größten Parteien der albanischen Minderheit in Makedonien, DUI und DPA. In der Arbeitssitzung der Kommission für den Haushalt beleidigten sich gegenseitig Talat Xhaferi von der DUI und Orhan Ibrahimi und Bekim Fazliu aus den Reihen der DPA. Daraufhin kam es zu einer Prügelei zwischen den beiden Lagern. Westliche Medien berichten natürlich über so einen Vorfall was jedoch erstaunt ist die Tatsache, dass über den Vorfall sehr knapp und ohne Angaben über die Parlamentarier berichtet wird. So wird nur von einer "Prügelei im makedonischen Parlament" berichtet. Auf der Balkan-Konferenz in Dubrovnik im vergangenen Monat hatte sich die Bundeskanzlerin auch zum Namensstreit zwischen Mazedonien und Griechenland geäußert, der die Integration Mazedoniens in die EU und die NATO blockiert. Was steckt hinter diesem Streit? Mindestens seit dem Zerfall Jugoslawiens und der Unabhängigkeit Mazedoniens 1991 gibt es den Streit um den Namen der „Republik Mazedonien“. The German company “Tehnical Textiles” will begin this month to build facility of 9,000 square meters in TIDZ Shtip, which will initially employ about 600 people, and in the next few years another 1,000. Among the countries of the former Yugoslavia, Macedonia is on fourth place in innovations, according to the Global Innovation Index, which ranks countries in accordance to the number of new technological and scientific inventions, Telegraf.mk informs. Slovenia is best ranked in the region, followed by Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Serbia and finally, Bosnia and Herzegovina. On a global scale, Macedonia is ranked 60th on the list of 143 countries. Switzerland sits comfortable on the top, being an absolute leader in innovation. Also among the first on the list are Britain, Sweden and Finland, which have strong support systems of innovation that encourage creativity. The biggest improvement, however, is observed in the region of Sub-Saharan Africa.

According to the latest data posted on the website of the National Bank of Macedonia, FDI totaled 109.5 million euros in the first four months and over 90 million euros in the first three months of the year.   Of the foreign investments of 110 million euros this year, some 77 million euros is direct investment and the rest is claims and liabilities of the firms to and from their mother companies. The National Bank's table shows that foreign companies made most investments in energy, agriculture and pharmacy.  Almost 10 million euros were invested in the energy sector, over 3 million euros in pharmacy and over 4 million euros in agriculture.  

Greek newspaper “Agelioforos” has published an article titled ”Secrets of the Macedonian Land”, in which it accuses Macedonia’s authorities over “irredentist approach against Greece”. “The NATO summit will be held in Wales on September 4-5, where leaders of the neighboring country want to attend, although they have not made even a small step towards settlement of the name issue and have an irredentist approach against Greece”, reads the paper. The paper also refers to the visit of Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras to an archaeological site in Amphipolis, where a royal tomb dating from the period of Alexander the Great has been uncovered. Macedonian airports commenced all necessary prevention measures confronting possible suspicious cases of Ebola on Wednesday, according to Macedonian Commission for Infectious Diseases. If a passenger with Ebola-like symptoms arrives at Skopje Airport 'Alexander the Great', he/she will be put in isolation room until being transported to the Clinic for Infectious Diseases by a special ambulance, said Dr. Jovanka Kostovska, member of the Commission for Infectious Diseases at the Ministry of Health. Der renommierteste makedonische Fußballklub Vardar Skopje wird ein neues Trainingszentrum bauen. Der genaue Standort ist noch nicht bekannt, man munkelt aber über ein schönes Grundstück direkt am Vardar Ufer nicht weit von der National Arena Filip II Makedon. Baubeginn soll im Oktober sein und im März 2015 soll das Zentrum eröffnet werden. Das Investitionsvolumen beträgt 1 Mio. Euro.

Ohrid. Die deutschen Handballerinnen haben das Finale der U18-Weltmeisterschaft in Makedonien mit 21:32 (7:15) gegen Rumänien verloren. Nach dem schlimmen Vorfall am ersten Spieltag der neuen Saison der makedonischen Fußballliga, meldete sich heute das makedonische Innenministerium MVR. Evgenij Pop-Acev belegte beim FINA-Grand-Prix im kanadischen Magog den dritten Platz. Dutzende Verletzte beim ewigem Derby Pelister gegen Vardar im Stadion Tumbe Kafe in Bitola. Im Vardar Block entzündete sich eine Schock Bombe etwa 4 Minuten vor Abpfiff, einem Fan wurde nach ersten Informationen der Arm unterhalb vom Ellbogen abgerissen, er soll einem Polizisten eine Schock Bombe entwendet und umgehend diese gezündet haben. Mazedonien ist Weltmeister, Deutschland Vize - im Scharfessen. Zum ersten Mal konnten sich hartgesottene Currywurst-Fans international messen. Zwischenzeitlich mussten einige ärztlich betreut werden. Am Imbiss "Curry & Chili" in Berlin-Wedding können hartgesottene Currywurst-Fans seit Jahren ihre Resistenz gegen Schärfe auf die Probe stellen – am Sonnabend konnten sie sich dabei erstmals mit internationalen Chili-Profis messen. An der ersten Weltmeisterschaft im Schärfe-Wettessen an der Bude von Frank Spieß nahmen 15 Mutige aus 9 Ländern teil. In 15 Runden schied je ein Wettesser aus, bis Stefan Kühne für Mazedonien als Weltmeister feststand. Silber ging an Deutschland, Bronze an Polen.
