Mazedonien gewinnt Supercup

Mazedonien hat sich erstmals den Titel beim Basketball-Supercup gesichert. Der EM-Vierte von 2011 feierte am Sonntag in Neu-Ulm beim 93:84 (41:41) gegen das zuvor ebenfalls ungeschlagene Bosnien-Herzegowina im dritten Spiel den dritten Sieg. Flügelspieler Gjorgji Chekovski dominierte die hochklassige Partie mit 33 Punkten. Bei Bosnien zeichneten sich erneut NBA-Profi Mirza Teletovic von den Brooklyn Nets mit 21 und Nihad Djedovic vom FC Bayern München mit 18 Zählern aus. Anderthalb Wochen vor der EM in Slowenien hatte Gastgeber Deutschland beim Vorbereitungsturnier ohne Sieg den letzten Platz belegt.

Metalurg with one foot in EHF's Champions League

Macedonia has great chances to have two teams at the VELUX EHF Champions League, but let’s wait Sunday and respect wishes of the most optimistic PICK Szeged fans. Metalurg beat Pick Szeged 26:16 (13:11) in the first match of the EHF CL qualification stage in front of 4000 fans in “Boris Trajkovski” hall in Skopje. The Hungarian team scored only two goals in 25 minutes of the second half. Poor PICK’s attack, but before that fantastic Macedonian defense with Darko Stanic between the posts, made fantastic +10 (23:13, 49.) in the last part of the match. Until the end, Szeged scored three more goals to change negative impression about their performance, but Metalurg secured the distance – 26:16. In his first match after knee injury and six month break, left wing Dejan Manaskov scored 6 goals ahead of Renato Vugrinec with 5. In Hungarian squad, Roland Mikler was good with 11 saves, while Gabor Ancsin scored five goals. Second match will be played on Sunday in Szeged. ...

DUI members arrested after 6th Postal Robbery

Skopje- Police finally made an arrest after the sixth robbery of Macedonian postal service branch in the past three years. The culprits got away with 211,000 euros. The branch hit was in the Skopje suburb of Chair.  The head of postal security, two mailmen, and directors at the Postal Office are among the eight people arrested. Two of the arrested are the wife and daughter of former DUI ministers. Police is searching for two other employees believing to be involved in the robbery. Each robbery averaged in the hundreds of thousands of euros. The last one whopping 600,000 euros. Unofficially, the money stolen from Macedonian postal services (almost 2 million euros) are used by DUI to pay UCK terrorists 'pensions' for fighting against Macedonian police back in 2001. Some of the money are also used by DUI to finance their elections. Macedonia's turnover industry rises

Macedonia's turnover index in industry in the period between January and June 2013, compared to the same period last year, rose by 6.9%. In June 2013 in comparison with June 2012, the index of industry turnover increased by 14.9%, the State Statistical Office said on Thursday. The index of domestic turnover in industry in June 2013, in comparison with June 2012, decreased by 6.3%, and the index of  non-domestic turnover in industry increased by 27.7%. The turnover index in industry in the section mining and quarrying in June 2013, in comparison with June 2012, was at the same level, while it increased by 15.8% in the section manufacturing industry. The turnover index by Main Industrial Groupings in June 2013, in comparison with June 2012, was higher in Energy by 53.4%, Intermediate goods industries, except energy by 1.9%, Capital goods industries by 67.2% and Non-durable consumer goods industries by 9.9%, but lower in Durable consumer goods industries by 19.6%. EIB provided 100 million euros to Macedonian companies so far this year

Macedonia's Economy Minister Valon Saracin, together with the Director of the Macedonian Bank for Development Promotion (MBPR) Dragan Martinovski and President of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia Menderes Kuchi, visited the bakery and mill "Pekon" in the village Chelopek, Brvenica Macedonia. "Pekon" owned  family Ademi, a user MBPR through two loans, one in the amount of 147,000 euros for the purchase of equipment from Italy,  and  second of 100,000 euros for the purchase of additional equipment for the production of bread and bakery products, which are due for two years. The company  plans to increase production of bread so far whose  capacity is 3,000 pieces per day and nearly double the capacity of the mill. - These loans have increased our capacity, production of flour  has increased from 30  tonnes to 70 and increased  the number of employees, said owner says  Yusuf Ademi. Globex builds first facility at Cojlija industrial zone

A ceremony on Wednesday marked the start of construction of the first facility at the multifunctional industrial zone Cojlija - a logistics center which is an investment by the company Globeks DOO Skopje.  "One million euros will be invested in the logistics center and initially 30 new jobs are set to be opened, out of the planned 360 employments," Minister of Transportation and Communications Mile Janakieski said at the ground-breaking ceremony. The facility is being built on an area of 7,000 square meters and is supposed to be completed in the first quarter of 2014. 65 lots in Cojlija industrial zone - the biggest in Macedonia - have been sold so far and cornerstones for some of the planned investments are expected to be laid in due time, according to Janakieski. Kulic: Truth about Macedonian president's death to be uncovered by year-end

A new probe into the 2004 plane crash near Mostar that killed Macedonian president Boris Trajkovski and eight other people on board, conducted by an international team,  will be completed by the year-end, says Omer Kulic, the team's chief and chair of the of the Commission for Aviation at Bosnia's Ministry of Transport and Communications. "We have been working intensively, planning to wrap up all activities by the year-end. We have identified the flaws of the former investigation commission and reasons for launching a new probe. We have identified this and know what is the problem, but we haven’t identified the reasons yet. It will be resolved at the (probe's) end, Kulic told the Anadolu Agency. Asked if the international team's report will differ from the conclusion of the initial investigation, Kulic said there would be some differences in any case.
