Yom HaShoah, the Holocaust Remembrance Day, was observed at the Holocaust Memorial Center for the Jews of Macedonia on Monday. The Holocaust Remembrance Day is observed as Israel’s day of commemoration for the approximately six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust as a result of the actions carried out by Nazi Germany and its accessories, and for the Jewish resistance in that period. Macedonian Jewish Community president Berta Romano-Nikolic said Yom HaShoah marked the day of heroism in the Warsaw ghetto and the suffering of the victims, who rebelled knowing it was a lost battle. “The Warsaw ghetto is a unique example of pride, defiance, resistance against evil and destruction. They demonstrated dignity of the human being that opposes death even when its imminent. Macedonian wine brand Dalvina has been launched in India by DrinksRus Beverages Pvt Ltd, an Australian-run company, the Business Standard reports. The company will be starting distribution in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh this year, and later it desires to expand to other regions, company officials have said. Babu Srinivasan, CEO of DrinksRus Pty Ltd, said at the launch of the brand in Chennai that the company was an "exclusive importer and distributor of the Dalvina brand of beverages in India. Our plan is to launch seven categories out of the total 15 under the brand in India and will be focusing on the two states, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, for the current year". World's leading Philip Morris brands will be manufactured in Prilep alongside products of the tobacco company located in the city. Negotiations involving a strategic partnership have been concluded. The strategic partnership, which has been confirmed by the company, is going to be realized by forming a new limited liability company with Philip Morris International Management having 51% participation in the capital and 49% participation of the Prilep Tobacco Company. "On behalf of Philip Morris, I can confirm that for us the strategic partnership with the Prilep Tobacco Company is an opportunity to improve the company's operations in the Southeastern European cluster," stated Maja Shotra, the company's representative. Bayram B, 38, from Kosovo has been arrested by the Macedonian police at the Alexander the Great Airport in Skopje, while he was entering the country. An international arrest warrant has been issued by NCB Interpol-Rome on Bayram B. for his extradition in Italy. He was handed over to the Public Prosecution Office in Skopje and to the Basic Court – Skopje 1 for further procedures. 

Religion has a positive influence in the country. This is what more than half of the 66,806 respondents believe in the survey in 65 countries, including Macedonia, show the results of the End of Year survey implemented by WIN/Gallup International. The results of the survey in Macedonia show that 68 percent of respondents believe religion has a positive role in the country compared to 11 percent who reported a negative role. Globally, 59 percent of respondents believe that religion has a positive impact while 22 percent believe that religion has a negative impact. In Western Europe there has been significantly less positive impact (4 %) compared to other regions in the world. The education, the survey results show, is inherent factor in the attitude towards the positive influence of religion among respondents. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast strenghtening of Macedonia's economy this year increasing its projection for growth from 3% to 3.2%, according to a recent report. Of the countries in the region, Kosovo will register the highest growth of 3.9%, while Macedonia is followed by Montenegro with 2.8%, Albania (2.1%), Bosnia and Herzegovina (2%) and Serbia with 1%. IMF expect Macedonia's economy to rise by 3.4% in 2015 and by 4% until 2019. The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank expect the global economy to grow 3.6% this year. Mounting geopolitical tensions, low inflation with fast-growing economies and developing markets experiencing setbacks are seen as main risks negatively affecting the global economic recovery. The European economy is expected to grow 1.7%.

Macedonian citizens in the US are surprised by VMRO-DPMNE's announcement that the party will strive for 'respect of minority and national rights'. Most feel the Government should focus on Macedonian minority rights in the Balkans, not the US, Utrinski Vesnik reports. "Here, none of my rights has ever been jeopardized. The resolution over Macedonia's NATO accession, submitted by U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller, has been supported by 11 other congressmen, urging the White House and the State Department to promote the country's Alliance membership at the UK summit in September. Das italienische IT-Unternehmen DF Labs plant die Eröffnung einer Niederlassung in Makedonien. Macedonia's Minister of Interior, Gordana Jankuloska, said enhancement of international cooperation, exchange of experience and ideas would boost traffic safety on Macedonian roads at today's meeting with Joop Goos, Head of the International Road Safety Organization "La Prevention Routiere Internationale" (PRI). At the meeting, Minister Jankuloska said the hitherto cooperation between Macedonia's Interior Ministry and the National Council on Road Traffic Safety is excellent, as shown by the numerous joint projects and activities over the past years. Der deutsche Autozulieferer Marquardt plant in Kürze den Beginn des Baus an seinem neuen Produktionswerk in Mazedonien. Marquardt-Manager Ludger Schöneker teilt mit, dasss es bereits im April oder Mai dieses Jahres soweit sein soll. Dem Plan nach sollte die Produktion voraussichtlich bis Juni 2015 begonnen haben. Als Standort wurde Veles ausgesucht.  Der entscheidende Faktor für die Investition in Mazedonien sei die freundliche Haltung gegenüber Unternehmen sowie die Aufrichtigkeit gegenüber Investoren.  „ Wir haben uns auch mit anderen Firmen unterhalten und fast jeder sagte uns das Gleiche, namentlich, dass das Land über gute Arbeitskräfte verfüge.
