Based on the signed protocol of Macedonian-Polish mixed commission on international transport of passengers and goods by road, signed on 30 May 2012 in Skopje and based on the exchange of diplomatic notes between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Poland, on 23 June 2014 come into force amendments to the Agreement on International Road Transport between the Governments of the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Poland, the Ministry of Transport and Communications informs.
According to the Agreement, from 23 June 2014 will be abolished 3000 bilateral transit permits for transport of goods for all types of vehicles and 1,000 bilateral transit permits for transport of goods for vehicles with minimum Euro 2 standard or total revocation of 4,000 bilateral transit permits, i.e. from 23 June 2014 bilateral transport of goods between Macedonia and Poland will take place or liberal regime without permission.
The agreed liberalization of bilateral and transit transport of goods to the Republic of Poland is of paramount importance for Macedonian transporters, keeping in mind that at this time the Republic of Macedonia has a liberal bilateral and transit transport of goods and the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Greece, Latvia and other countries, which allows smooth access to European markets for Macedonian transporters.
Ministry of Transport and Communications held continuous meetings of mixed commissions on Transportation in international road transport to supplement the quota of transport licenses and liberalizing shipping to countries that pursue economic exchange in order to enable smooth transport for Macedonian transporters.
These activities have enabled a full liberalization of shipping in a number of countries with which the Republic of Macedonia has economic exchanges and supplement the contingent of countries that share transport permits.
