Over 350 participants from numerous countries in the world today and tomorrow in Ohrid will debate for the opportunities for greater economic collaboration at the second Global Investment Summit organized by the “Macedonia 2025″.
The Global Investment Summit this year is dedicated to the competitiveness of the national economy, as well as stimulating innovation and promoting human capital that provides leadership that can transform the state and innovative developed economy.
This is an excellent opportunity for promotion of investment opportunities offered by Macedonia and presentation of the benefits that are available for foreign investors. It will be attended by companies from over 20 countries, including the U.S.A., Australia, China, Japan, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, and Hungary. There will be reputable managers and specialists from 30 world-renowned companies like Phillips USA, Telus Canada, Canadian Bombardier, Deutsche Telekom Group, MindTree India, and Acibadem Turkey.
The Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, the U.S. Ambassador to Macedonia Paul Wohlers, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Macedonia 2025″ Mike Zafirovski and the Summit Chairman Zoran Martinovski are scheduled to address the opening of the Summit.
The organizer of the investment Summit, “Macedonia 2025″ said that this Summit will be one of the largest business gatherings in the country. Between the participants and speakers at the Summit are Samedi Og from Blackstone, Chris Galvin – former CEO of Motorola, whose family founded the Motorola, and now Galvin is Co-founder and President of Capital Stit, Hubertus van der Vaart by SEAF, Samih Elhage who this year became CFO of Nokia solutions and networks. In Ohrid is John Bitove known Macedonian businessman and Mike Zafirovski who has experience as a General Manager in several international companies such as Motorola and Johnson Controls and is founder and the Zaf Group. Among the participants is Filip Van Hulle the founder of the worldwide brand Van Hall Belgium and Mehmet Ali Aydinlar, the Chairman of the Board of Acibadem Clinics.
The organizer highlights as particularly significant collaboration with government ministries and institutions for attracting foreign investment that helped the Summit to register many prominent names from the world renowned companies. The main topic of the panel discussion is “The key observations for the competitiveness of Macedonian and regional economy”. At the Summit, the broader economic team of the Government represented by several ministers also announced the participation.
- The Minister for Foreign Investments, Vele Samak made sure to have the presence of the highest level of Van Hool of Belgium, Drekselmaer from Germany and other potential foreign investors. The Minister of Foreign Investments, Jerry Naumoff also invited many interested investors from the United States. Particularly significant activity of Invest Macedonia, through its economic promoters in Ohrid will bring representatives of large companies from Albania, Japan, China, and several representatives of Admilia Holding Ltd, which integrates 70 Italian contractors who proposed to realize the investment projects in Macedonia, informed “Macedonia 2025″.
Foreign companies, as indicated by the organization, expressed openness for cooperation in the field of outsourcing, export, investment, logistics, consulting, joint ventures, research and development. During the Summit already are scheduled hundred bilateral meetings.
