A government delegation led by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski met with a delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) led by its Vice President, Hideaki Domichi. JICA is the largest donor of projects in Macedonia.
“We talked about cooperation in the field of environment and products and services of higher technology, exchange of experiences and training for Macedonian managers. They assure us that they will support one of our most significant projects for finishing the collecting system on Lake Ohrid. We have secured support in regard to financial part for the feasibility studies, followed by the main project and construction, so it is important to us that JICA remains significant partner of the Republic of Macedonia,” stated Deputy Prime Minister Zoran Stavreski after the meeting.
The Macedonian delegation also meet with influential members of the Japanese Parliament led by Takao Makino, Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan. Japanese MP and Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan Makino has informed PM Gruevski that Japan will increase the number of scholarships for Macedonian students who wish to enroll in master studies on state and private Japanese universities.
