State Statistical Office regularly publishes statistics on the number of signed and broken marriages. According to the latest statistical table published in July this year, the average age at first marriage was 25.8 years for the bride and groom 28.6 years. Another interesting information is that the number of divorces in 2013 increased by 6.2% compared to 2012 and is 2045 divorces.
The most critical period for termination of marriage is December which accounts with 10 percent of the total number of divorces in the country, and August is at the bottom of this list.
Under the age of wife most divorces, 19.5% happened in the age group of 35-39 years, and for the husband in the age group of 30-34 years with a share of 19.1%.
Skopje is at the top of the list according to the number of divorces, but also on the list of the second and third remarrying. According to statistics, only in Skopje over 1085 brides have done this step for the second time and 93 grooms in 2013 decided to marry for third time.
Municipality Aerodrom tops the list in both criteria.
